Midland puts “Spotlight” on arts students

Midland University Arts students have only been back at school for about three weeks, but already are looking forward to putting the spotlight on their talents. The students will be showcasing their talents September 16-18, with their “Spotlight Series,” held at the Fremont Opera House. The annual fundraising event was started by Bill Christian, “Billy C.,” after he lost his fiance to breast cancer. Ten years later, he’s ready to hand over the reigns to his son-in-law, Rich Oliva. The Fremont landmark, owned by Jerry Fullington and Randy Trahan, quickly became a downtown hot spot for good times and good fun.
